Troy | 1.5 MWdc | Ground Mount, Fixed-Tilt
Optimum EPC delivered innovative design solutions to overcome unexpected subsurface conditions, meeting strict electrical performance requirements without delay.
Optimum EPC was contracted by Syncarpha Capital to deliver full EPC services for a 1.5 MWdc fixed-tilt solar project in Troy, Maine. The site included multiple equipment pads supporting transformers and pad-mounted switchgear/reclosers.
During construction, subsurface conditions proved significantly more difficult than anticipated, with far more rock encountered than indicated in the geotechnical reports. This made traditional cable trenching especially challenging.
To overcome this, Optimum EPC collaborated closely with both internal and client design teams to engineer a hybrid solution. The team implemented a combination of CAB system for above-ground feeders alongside shallow trenching with concrete encasement, ensuring compliance with the client’s strict voltage drop specifications while keeping the project on schedule.
