Optimum EPC successfully took over a distressed project, correcting design and equipment issues while delivering on time for critical tax equity deadlines.
Optimum EPC was contracted by Aligned Climate Capital in Spring 2024 to deliver full EPC services for a 1.5 MWdc fixed-tilt solar project in Thorndike, Maine. The site, located in a repurposed gravel pit, included a single equipment pad and required Optimum EPC to step in after another contractor defaulted on the contract.
The project presented immediate challenges, including incomplete design work and major electrical equipment ordered with incorrect specifications. Optimum EPC mobilized quickly, reworking the inherited designs and addressing critical procurement issues to keep the project on track.
Leveraging strong vendor relationships, Optimum EPC was able to secure the correct equipment with compressed lead times, ensuring the project was energized before Thanksgiving. This timely execution allowed Aligned Climate Capital to maximize tax equity financing as part of a larger community solar portfolio in Maine.
