Berwick | 4.7 MWdc | Ground Mount, Fixed-Tilt

Co-located with Lebanon, two projects totaling 8 MWdc were completed ahead of schedule, preserving tax equity value and powering over 1,800 Maine homes.

Optimum EPC was contracted by Soltage in August 2024 to take over and complete the Berwick and Lebanon Solar Projects, two co-located ground-mount, fixed-tilt arrays totaling 8 MWdc in York County, Maine. The projects were initially abandoned mid-design by a bankrupt EPC, requiring full re-engineering, permitting resets, and accelerated mobilization.

Despite inheriting incomplete documents and permitting gaps, Optimum EPC mobilized within two weeks, reworked electrical and civil plans, and managed procurement under aggressive lead time constraints.

Both sites were successfully energized by December 2024, three weeks ahead of the tax credit deadline. This preserved tax equity value and allowed Soltage to move forward with long-term PPA execution.

These projects now generate enough clean power for over 1,800 Maine homes annually, supporting Soltage’s Northeast portfolio and contributing to Maine’s clean energy goals under the state’s Climate Action Plan.
